AN OVERVIEW
This show stemmed out of a college student's endless scrolling through TikTok starting in late March 2020, or as it is more infamously known, the beginning of quarantine.
She started seeing the people on her screen as familiar friends who allowed her to escape the stressful reality outside.
She started watching young people gain followers. Fast.
Mix together her last year of college, the idea to sit down and interview those very people about how their overnight-sensational fame has affected their life, and what do you know...
a podcast was born.
TIMELINE
2020
Entered quarantine.
Saw TikTok as escape to the outside and place to see people's faces.
MARCH
Podcast entered research stage: Young fame, rise of social media, scouring TikTok for content creator emails.
SEPTEMBER
Website design process in full-swing. Used logo designed in September for color scheme.
NOVEMBER
AUGUST
Fall 2020
semester began.
Podcast was in the brainstorming stage.
OCTOBER
Content creator interviews underway. Using the all-too-familiar Zoom for interviews and trusty old GarageBand for audio editing.
DECEMBER
The project continues...
